DONNA Josh, I don't think the McClane meeting is gonna happen.

JOSH Donna, it's gonna happen.

DONNA No, it's not.

JOSH It always does.

DONNA No, it's not.

JOSH Yes, it is.

DONNA You're kidding me.

JOSH I'm not.

DONNA Okay. [leaves]

JOSH The McClane meeting is gonna happen, Leo. It's the natural evolution of professional courtesy.

LEO Yeah, but Sam's gonna sit with Fitzwallace and the rest of the team this afternoon. They want to hear what you have to say.

JOSH And I've got a few hours to kill, Leo. Why don't we do it in a room?

LEO Yeah.

The three enter the ROOSEVELT ROOM.

FITZWALLACE Josh, what's the alternative?

JOSH For the moment, the alternative is getting indicted for obstruction of justice.

FITZWALLACE Ah-ah-ah-ah!

JOSH The alternative is getting indicted for lying to the FBI. Where is that going to end up?

FITZWALLACE I don't know. You know that I'm honest with you.

JOSH Tell me about the Vermeil.

MANDY It's a very interesting story. First of all, it's not true.

JOSH What are you talking about?

MANDY There's been an investigation.

JOSH What kind of investigation?

MANDY There's been an investigation by the O.E.O.B. into whether or not you've broken any laws while working as a member of the British Secret Service.

JOSH Are you talking about the salad?

MANDY I'm talking about the salad. [grabs some folders and stands up]

JOSH And the Vermeil?

MANDY I've got my own investigation in place, and I'm telling you now, that there's no Vermeil in the White House.

JOSH [pause, to Leo] Well, you did the best you could.

LEO Where's Sam?

JOSH He's filling in for C.J..

MANDY I should also mention that you're cordial with my use of the word 'subpoena'.

LEO Well, not to me.

MANDY I'm just saying. If it's going to be covered in the newspapers, I want to know what the hell the hell the hell the hell the hell the hell the hell the hell the hell happened.

JOSH [opens the door and starts to leave] Mandy?
